Nickel Number Five Tonight?

Last year, the Ottawa Senators hosted the Nashville Predators in what proved to be a pretty exciting game. The Preds won 6-5 after Dean McAmmond and Martin Gerber cost us the game. Thank god tonight Alex Auld is starting.

At the other end the Sens will face Pekka Rinne who has snatched the starting job away from Dan Ellis this season. Yes, the same Dan Ellis who everyone thought would sign with the Sens this past offseason but it never materialized. However, with Rinne now the starter and Chet Pickard in the system, Ellis trade anyone?

All the lines will be the same according to the Ottawa Sun. This Nashville teams has a terrible penalty kill so if Ottawa can get on their nerves early in the game, they can easily win the game. I think we'll see a better effort from the Pizza Line tonight as they're facing not a stingy defense like Minnesota.

Now, on to some rumors. I've talked to some sources the past few days and some of them mentioned that Bryan Murray was talking to Nashville's GM David Poile. Right now it looks like the Preds are interested in Alexandre Picard and the Sens are listening because ever since Brendan Bell's re-surgence, Picard is a healthy scratch. There is also some lingerings that coach Clouston wants to call up Mattias Karlsson for a game or two.

Filip Kuba has a no-trade clause but he's not gonna give a list of teams he would prefer to go to like Leafs' Kaberle and Kubina are. One guy tells me Kuba will happily waive his no-trade clause to go to a Stanley Cup Contender. Montreal and Boston are supposedly upping their deals, and it looks like it may become into a three-way race between Montreal, Boston, and Columbus.

So the magic crystal ball says 3-1 win tonight(Spezza, McAmmond, Heatley; Dumont) in a pretty nitty, gritty matchup. Should be lots of fun to watch!

Thanks For Reading and Enjoy The Game!!!
