Hey Buzz readers, the NHL Draft is coming up soon and all of the future stars of the NHL will be in Montreal to hear their name drafted by a team. This is your chance to voice your opinion on the big day. all you have to do is to say who you think your beloved Ottawa Senators will draft on June 28th and you'll be entered. Please give me your answers in the comment section. Here are mine:

I Think: With the 9th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Ottawa Senators are pleased to select from Leksand of Swedish Elite League, Oliver Ekman-Larsson

I Want: With the 9th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Ottawa Senators are pleased to select from the USA U-18 National Team Developmental Program, Jordan Schroeder

I think they will trade 9th pick for Tavares :)

(After trading Heatley of course :))

With the 9th pick, sens would take OEL if he were there, but he isn't. BM calls out Kadri's name instead.

Who should they take? OEL in my opinion. If he isn't there, Kulikov.

With the other pick, the one from trading heatley, I really hope we can get one of those four elite guys at the top. Suddenly we'd be looking like we could make a seious run in a couple years.

Since Heatley won't accept a trade to either the Islanders or to the Lightning, they're out of our reach.

Should the LA deal happen, the Sens should get the 5th pick and select Evander Kane or Magnus Paajarvi Svensson (whoever's still available).

If they can hang on to the 9th pick, they should pick Jordan Schroeder.

Why? Well, because in two-three years we'll have to replace Alfredsson's production. And we won't have the luxury of debating wonderful trades like we do for Heatley. We'll need an exceptionally strong scoring winger who's responsible in all three zones. Duchene and Kane have that potential, and perhaps with some good coaching MPS could as well.

    Sens will draft if available:

    1. D Oliver Ekman-Larsson
    2. D Jared Cowen
    3. D David Rundblad
    4. F Jordan Schroeder
    5. F Jacob Josefson
    6. D Ryan Ellis

    Why???

Unless you are picking in the top 7, the forwards after them aren't a sure thing to be impact forwards in the NHL.

Therefore, OEL, Cowen and Rundblad are the next best D-man after Hedman and its alot harder to find good d-man than good forwards.

The big question is who will Ott draft with their two 2nd round picks?

With Ott 2nd, I say draft F Ryan O'Reilly. He'll be a future Fisher for our team.

With Columbus 2nd, I think Ott should draft a goalie. There are a few good goalie prospects in the draft and Ott needs to replenish their goalie depth.

    What do you guys think??

Sounds good, I like your strategy T-Money. I'd like to see Ottawa get a first-line forward in the mix, but if none is available by the 9th pick, then a D it is.
