Daniel Alfredsson, Nick Foligno, Chris Kelly, and Chris Campoli gave something their fans could cheer about going back home, and obviously that's free pizza! The Sens scored 6 goals for the first time since the 4th game of the season as the Senators slaughtered the Sluginators.

Ever since Cory Clouston has come in he's given more time to his secondary scorers and that has worked. Nick Foligno now has 7 goals under Coach Clouston, and he had 6 goals under Hartsburg. Chris Kelly is shurgging off his nickname of "Mr. Hand of Stone" Sens fans have apparently given him. Chris Campoli's acquisition has been brilliant, he lets that shot rip like a bomb and even though he's not the best in his own zone, he is hwat the Sens needed from the start of the year. And of course Primary Scoring came from El Capitano who might have started a fashion trend around the league with that jaw-protector.

Peter Regin is making a case for a roster spot next year and he deserves it. He's a big body who uses it to his advantage. Anton Volchenkov and Jesse Winchester continued their mean streaks. Brian Elliott played good in goal, making 27 saves including some great stops in the 2nd period. He did let a weak goal by Jochen Hecht that bounced twice of his stick and in. The 1st goal was was a bomb from the point, and the 2nd one was weak, but I don't think you can blame Elliott because he thought that Vanek was gonna go glove side, which he always does, but he went pad side and it just trickled past Elliott. He will have to improve his rebound control but he is making his casing for the Number 1 job next year.

On some other notes, anyone catch Dean Brown calling Mike Milbury "Mike Murphy"? With Mike's previous history, watch out Dean. Antoine Vermette got an assist in his Blue Jackets debut as Columbus steamrolled over the best team in the league, the Detroit Red Wings, 8-2. Gerber had his first loss as a Maple Leaf in 4-1 loss to the Oilers. Jason Smith left the game with a lower-body injury and my guess is that he'll be out for 7-10 days. Brian Lee will most likely be re-called but is it possible the Sens will give Mattias Karlsson a chance before the season ends? Alexandre Picard is done for the season. The Sens are now 5 points back of the Leafs in the standings with 17 games left. Do it for Sens nation. Just do it for Sens nation.
