I have talked to people who believe Bryan Murray is set to trade Antoine Vermette. The climax is now, he's only scored 2 goals in 22 games and has had an abundance of chances to score. Our scoring is tied for the worst in the league and part of the problem is our secondary scoring such as Vermette. I don't know if he's gonna be involved in a bigger trade for a puck-moving defenseman or just a straight swap for a second-line centre.
Vermette has seen his stock plummet faster than Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and it really shows management should have traded him when his value was moderate. Signing him in the off-season I thought was a terrible decision, and it delayed any plans for the Sens to get Jason Williams. Williams has 6 goals on a horrific Atlanta team.
Let's hope Murray makes the right decision and does the best for the team. And we all know what that is.
